Dr. Rachel B. Danis

Dr. Rachel Danis is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Danis specializes in endometriosis, ovulation induction, LGBTQIA family building, and fertility preservation, in addition to the broad range of infertility diagnoses. She is particularly passionate about endometriosis and was awarded an investigator initiative grant by AbbVie to conduct a clinical trial using the oral GnRH-antagonist, elagolix (Orlissa). Dr. Danis’ interest in research and academic medicine motivated her to obtain a Master of Science in Clinical, Biomedical, and Translational Investigation while simultaneously completing her fellowship training. In Dr. Danis' final year of residency, she was nominated administrative chief resident.

Research and Academics

Academic medicine has always played a significant role in Dr. Danis’ career. She has conducted research, written book chapters, and has been a devoted educator to medical students, residents, and junior fellows. Dr. Danis has conducted both clinical and translational research throughout her career, awarding her presentations at national conferences, as well as publications in world renown journals such as Fertility and Sterility, Fertility & Sterility Reports, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, and Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. One of Dr. Danis’ most proud research accomplishments has been receiving a research grant from AbbVie to investigate the pharmacodynamics of elagolix.
