According to a new study, a woman’s reproductive system may present a veritable obstacle course that ensures only strongest and fastest sperm can get through to fertilize and egg. Dr. Natan Bar-Chama, director of the Center of Male Reproductive Health thinks these findings could help couples struggling to conceive by improving the process of in vitro fertilization. “When we have these powerful technologies that bypass natural production, we still would like to optimize filtration and selection, and potentially this type of research advances that.”
